Presentation of research and findings by Development Initiatives, followed by group discussions and a networking lunch.

We are pleased to invite you to an event exploring the vital changes needed to significantly improve financing – both development and humanitarian – for those being left behind, in particular women and girls.

The work of DI aims to enrich and inform debates around financing by: focusing on the potential impact of all resources on poverty reduction; exploring the major trends in donor support and behaviour in both development and humanitarian contexts; and highlighting the important role of data in identifying the people and places most at risk of being left behind.

Bringing together the key findings from two of DI’s flagship workstreams – ‘Investments to End Poverty’ (ITEP) and the ‘Global Humanitarian Assistant Report’ (GHA) – DI will share with participants their most up-to-date findings on development, humanitarian and nexus financing, exploring how these intersect and relate to tackling global poverty and gender inequality.

The objective of this event will be to stimulate an open and active discussion around the emerging global trends, and to explore together how financing can be more effectively used to support development and progress for the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people.

This event is co-hosted by Development Initiatives (DI), the Humanitarian Response Network (HRN), the Canadian Council for International Co-operation (CCIC), the Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC) and CARE Canada.
